Gardai in Co Cavan are invesigating the circumstances surrounding a shooting incident which took place near Swanlinbar last night.
A man in his late 20's received gunshot wounds to his leg.
Gardaí have confirmed that the shooting during the course of a robbery.
The man was driving his car when he was stopped by a number of men, shot in the leg and robbed of a sum of cash.
He was taken to Cavan General Hospital where his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
