One killed in Bangkok violence

At least one person has been killed in clashes between pro- and anti-government demonstrators in Bangkok.

At least one person has been killed and 34 hurt, four critically, in clashes between pro- and anti-government demonstrators in Bangkok.

There are reports that two people suffered gunshot wounds during the skirmishes near Government House, occupied by protesters demanding Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej resign.

About 400 Thai soldiers were ordered to Bangkok to help police keep the peace.
