Thousands of people have been taking part in the world's largest tomato fight in Spain this morning.
The battle with overripe tomatoes provided by the City Hall is the highlight of the festival La Tomatina.
People flock to Bunol near Valencia on the last Wednesday in August each year for what has become one of the highlights on Spain's summer calendar.
Aside from telling participants to have fun and to consider covering their eyes, the festival's website adds the following advice:
'Never, and we mean never, climb on a gate, window, wall, etc to be able to watch the battle, you will became the target of 40,000 people.'
