Four explosions in the Turkish city of Istanbul have left three people wounded.

Mortar shells were fired from a cemetery at a nearby municipal building.

Three of the shells landed in the cemetery and the fourth crashed into a refuse vehicle by the municipal building, located near Selimiye Barracks in the city.

Two people riding a motorbike were seen fleeing the scene, while one man suffered a minor injury to the leg in the blast.

The attack comes at a time of heightened tensions in Turkey after a court fined the ruling AK Party for anti-secular activities, but stopped short of banning it.
