Thabo Mbeki - Agreed to allow groups to join Zimbabwe talks

South African President Thabo Mbeki has agreed to allow the African Union and the UN to join in his mediation efforts in Zimbabwe.

Mr Mbeki will remain as the main mediator between the country's government and opposition, but he has agreed to consult with a group which includes representatives of the AU and the UN.

The move came after the opposition in Zimbabwe accused Mr Mbeki of being biased in favour of President Robert Mugabe.
