A further €2m has been allocated to tackle the increasing use of cocaine.
The Government says the money will be used to raise awareness about the problems caused by the drug and to support rehabilitation programmes.
A nationwide campaign highlighting the dangers of cocaine use was launched earlier this year.
The latest funding is for local campaigns, which will target specific areas around the country.
The Minister with responsibility for the Drugs Strategy, Pat Carey, says local and regional drug task forces are best placed to deliver meaningful and focussed anti-drug messages.
He is hoping the measures will address some of the problems caused by the increasing use of cocaine in Ireland.
As of February, a total of €21m in current funding had been allocated to the 14 Local Drugs Task Forces.
