In the US, an 11-month-old baby has been found alive after being flung 100 metres into a field by a tornado in Tennessee.

Rescue workers, who saw him lying face down, initially thought he was a baby doll.

Apart from a few scrapes and bruises, baby Kyson Stowell was fine.

The boy's mother's body was found in the same field just yards from where their home was flattened in Castalian Springs.

Baby Kyson is now in his grandparents' care.

His survival is being seen by many as a miracle, after tornadoes across five US states killed 57 people and devastated communities.
