Pakistan's Supreme Court has dismissed a final challenge to President Pervez Musharraf's re-election. This paves the way for him to resign as army chief.
Mr Musharraf has repeatedly said he would remove his uniform and be sworn in as a civilian leader for a second five-year term once his re-election was cleared by the court.
On Monday the court dismissed five other challenges to his victory in an October presidential election.
The court was packed with judges loyal to Mr Musharraf since he declared a state of emergency on 3 November.
Meanwhile opposition party leader, Imran Khan, called for a sweeping boycott of upcoming general elections to avoid legitimising emergency rule.
Mr Khan said he had spoken to other senior opposition figures on organising a boycott, although he said he would have to reconsider his options if they could not agree a unified line.
He was recently released from prison following his arrest after he joined a rally against Mr Musharraf's emergency rule.
