Derry - PSNI officer shot last week

Detectives investigating the attempted murder of an off-duty PSNI officer in Derry a week ago are to carry out a reconstruction of events that took place at the scene of the shooting.

Officers will be speaking to pedestrians and motorists in Bishop Street where the officer was shot, and at High Park in the Creggan area, where the gunmen's getaway car was abandoned.

The dissident republican group the Real IRA has claimed responsibilty for shooting an off-duty police officer in Dungannon on Monday evening.

Detectives are treating both attacks as attempted murder.
