A campaign aimed at encouraging car users to walk and use public transport more often has been launched by the Dublin Transportation Office.

The Minister for Transport, Noel Dempsey, said the 'One Small Step' initiative was aimed at tackling the growing problem of traffic congestion.

The Dublin Transport Office's Chief Executive, John Henry, said 200,000 cars would be removed from roads in the greater Dublin area by car users walking one short journey every week.
