A man is being questioned in connection with the death of a 21-year-old man in a hit-and-run incident in west Belfast.

The victim has been named as Gerard Damien Kane, from the Colinglen area of the city.

Mr Kane was knocked down at around 5am this morning as he walked along the Colinglen road.

The PSNI said a suspect presented himself to police at Woodbourne station a few miles from where the collision occurred. The PSNI said the man was arrested and was questioned about the death of Mr Kane.

Detectives have also appealed for members of the public who witnessed the incident to come forward.
