The Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission is investigating the death of a man in a road traffic accident in Co Galway.
52-year-old David Soloman of Oughtherard, Co Galway was a pedestrian and was fatally injured when he was struck by a vehicle that was being driven by an off-duty member of the Garda Síochána.
Mr Soloman was originally from Sunderland in the United Kingdom.
