Ireland West Airport Knock - Passengers from New York delayed for three days so far

Passengers bound for Ireland West Airport Knock on a Globespan flight from New York's JFK airport have had their flight cancelled for a third night in a row.

The flight was originally due to leave JFK on Thursday night.

Passengers boarded the plane last night, but were directed back to the terminal at approximately 2am Irish time.

They were told the plane could not take off due to a recurrence of the original 'engineering problem'.

Passengers believe relatives were informed by Globespan that the flight had taken off.

It is still unclear when Globespan will fly its 240 passengers to Knock.

As a result, the return leg of the flight - GSM 201 - going to JFK from Knock has been delayed indefintely.

Another Globespan flight - GSM 736 from Boston - which was due into Knock this morning has been cancelled.

As a result, the return leg of that flight (GSM 735A) which had been due to leave Knock en route to Boston has been delayed indefinitely.
