The Dáil has voted to suspend Fine Gael TD Michael Ring from the House for three days.
Deputy Ring was yesterday involved in a verbal spat with Ceann Comhairle John O'Donoghue that resulted in the day's session being suspended for a time.
Speaking on RTÉ's Morning Ireland this morning, Mr Ring said he would not withdraw the statements that he had made in the Dáil chamber yesterday.
He had said that the new Ceann Comhairle was making the rules up as he went along.
