This Week: Dermot Ahern, Minister for Foreign Affairs, discusses the mandate agreed in Brussels for a new EU reform treaty to replace the rejected EU Constitution
Dermot Ahern, Minister for Foreign Affairs, has said it is likely that a referendum will be held on the new EU Treaty.
Speaking on RTÉ radio, Mr Ahern said that the government are happy with the outcome of the agreement on a mandate for a new EU treaty.
He also stated that that the new EU treaty is in effect what was agreed on during the Irish presidency of the EU in 2004.
