At least four people have been killed after a suicide car-bomber blew himself up near the home of the Somali Prime Minister.
Prime Minister Ali Mohamed Gedi was not hurt in the incident. But it was the fourth time in a year that Mr Gedi has been the target of assassination attempts.
The explosion came after a deadly weekend assault in northeastern Somalia by security forces and a US warship against Islamic extremists with suspected links to Al-Qaeda.
Mr Gedi's interim administration is struggling to impose its authority on the Horn of Africa nation.
Near daily attacks on government troops and their Ethiopian military allies are blamed on an Islamist movement who have vowed to wage an ‘Iraq-style’ insurgency.
