12 people have been found guilty by a court in Belgrade of the assassination of a Serbian prime minister four years ago.
Zoran Djindjic, who was regarded as a pro-Western reformer, took power after Slobodan Milosevic was ousted in 2000.
He later extradited Mr Milosevic to The Hague war crimes tribunal.
Mr Djindjic was 50 years old when he was shot outside government offices in Belgrade in March 2003.
Most of the defendants were members of a mafia gang and were former paramilitaries who had been backed by Mr Milosevic, who died in custody in The Hague in 2006.
