Six people were rescued from a cabin cruiser which went onto rocks on Lough Derg in Co Tipperary this afternoon.
The alarm was raised when the boat was holed and began taking water shortly after 1.30pm.
The Lough Derg Lifeboat went to the scene at Urra Point, near Dromineer, and an hour later succeeded in getting all six safely off the cruiser.
A spokesperson for the Coastguard service said weather conditions on the lake were poor at the time and efforts to recover the boat have been abandoned until tomorrow.
