Two young women were rescued from Lough Corrib early today after getting into difficulties near Oughterard pier in Co Galway.
The alarm was raised shortly after midnight.
The women were brought to shore by a local boat and received medical treatment for hypothermia at the scene before being taken to University College Hospital in Galway.
One has since been discharged, while the other was kept in for observation.
