Five people were rescued from a power boat which went aground on rocks in Galway Bay last night.
The crew raised the alarm by mobile phone, when the boat went onto a reef half a kilometre from the shoreline at Barna.
Lifeboat services went to the scene shortly after 10pm.
All five were taken safely ashore.
The lifeboat has now returned to the scene with heavy duty pumping equipment to see if the boat, which is taking water, can be towed off the rocks.
