A motorcyclist has been killed in a road traffic accident on the N21 Rathkeale bypass in Limerick.
The accident happened when a car and a motorcycle were involved in a head on collision at Reens, Ardagh, about 5km from Rathkeale, at 3.15pm this afternoon.
Gardaí in Askeaton are appealing for witnesses to the accident.
The victim was in his 30s and from the west Limerick area.
The road, which is the main route between Limerick and Killarney, was closed for a period but has now reopened.
