A 50-year-old man died in a house fire in Strabane, Co Tyrone, this morning.
Tony McDermott was killed when flames swept through his home at Waterside Street in the town just before 9am.
The PSNI and the Fire & Rescue Service are carrying out an inspection of the property to establish the cause of the fire which is believed to have started in a downstairs living room.
The mid-terrace house was ablaze by the time firefighters arrived. They managed to prevent the fire spreading to neighbouring houses.
The victim was rescued from the house and taken to hospital by ambulance but he was declared dead on arrival.
