Aer Lingus check-in staff have voted to accept commission rates arising from the new baggage charges.
The airline introduced the charges today but check-in staff had until this evening to ballot on the proposals which will award them 10% commission on every bag checked-in at the airport.
The result of the ballot has been announced with 59% in favour and 41% against.
The new charges are for checked-in baggage on short-haul flights to the UK and the rest of Europe.
A fee of €8 per flight will be levied on every item of luggage checked in at airports.
A fee of €4 per flight is offered for passengers who pay online prior to the day of departure.
There are additional charges for baggage in excess of 20kg.
The cabin baggage allowance is unchanged at a maximum of one bag per passenger weighing no more than 6kg.
Aer Lingus long-haul flights are unaffected by the new charges.
