Rescue workers say 177 people have so far been rescued after a shipwreck off the Indonesia island of Java.

More than 600 people are thought to have been on board the Senopati Nusantara when it sank in bad weather early yesterday.

The bodies of 66 people have been found.

Naval boats have been relaunched after poor weather conditions hampered rescue efforts.

The ship was heading from Kalimantan on Borneo to Semarang in Central Java.
