Electricity supplies have been restored to most areas of Co Galway which experienced power cuts this evening.
Only Cill Chiaráín in the west of the county and a small number of houses in Oranmore remain without power.
No explanation has been given by the ESB for the outages, but in the case of Oranmore, vandalism of a local substation resulted in 2500 households losing power.
A spokeperson for the ESB said that around 30 houses in Oranmore will not have their power restored until tomorrow due to the damage caused.
