A woman has died following a fall from the Cliffs of Moher in Co Clare this afternoon.
The woman, a 35-year-old Polish tourist, had been sightseeing on the cliffs with a friend when she was swept into the sea by high winds.
A search was mounted and the woman was taken from the water by the Shannon-based rescue helicopter shortly before 2pm and brought to Galway Regional Hospital. She died a short time later.
The victim had been living in Dublin for the past 12 months.
Meanwhile, a body has been recovered on a beach in Co Clare. It has not been identified yet.
