A 23-year-old Polish man was seriously injured in a fall from a second storey flat in Henry Street in Limerick city yesterday evening.

Gardaí were called to the flat at 6.50pm and found the man lying injured on the ground outside.

He was brought to the Mid Western Regional Hospital where he was initially in a critical condition. He is now said to be in a stable condition.

Gardaí are investigating the incident and the scene has been preserved for technical examination.
