A multi-millionairess from Texas has become the first woman to pay for a trip into space.
A multi-millionairess from Texas has become the first woman to pay for a trip into space.
Anousheh Ansari, an Iranian with American citizenship, is reported to have paid the equivalent of €15 million to travel in a Russian Soyuz spacecraft which lifted off from Kazakhstan this morning.
Her journey will last ten days and will include a two-day trip to the International Space Station.
The 35-year-old made her money in telecommunications.
