The Reverend Ian Paisley has said he will not be accepting an invitation from US President George W Bush to attend St Patrick's Day ceremonies in the White House on Friday.
The heads of the North's four other main parties, including the Ulster Unionist Party leader, Sir Reg Empey, will all travel to Washington DC.
Mr Paisley said he could not see any benefit from attending the event.
