Gardaí from Carrick on Shannon have named the victim of a Co Leitrim accident.
58-year-old Michael Mc Garry, from Dromod, Leitrim was a pedestrian when knocked down and killed last night.
The accident happened at Dromod Beg, Dromod at about 10.40pm.

Gardaí have named the man who died in a freak accident in north Cork last night.
Peter O'Sullivan, 57, from Ballygriffin in Mallow died instantly after he was hit by falling granite slabs which were dislodged after a van and lorry collided on a bridge above his head.
Mr O'Sullivan had been tending to dogs below the bridge on the Mallow to Fermoy road when the collision occurred.
The weather conditions at the time of the collision were described as appalling.
Mr O'Sullivan's body was found after emergency personnel spotted a torch beam in the field below.
The drivers of the van and lorry sustained minor injuries and were taken to Cork University Hospital.
The number of road deaths this year so far is up five on the same time last year.
14 people have lost their lives on Irish roads so far in 2006. The figure at the same time last year was nine.
Half of those killed this year were pedestrians. Six were drivers and one motorcyclist was also killed.
