Management at An Post has accepted the Labour Court's recommendation on the dispute at the company.
The Communications Workers' Union has promised to back the recommendation when it is put to a vote.
The union has also lifted the threat of strike action.
The dispute had threatened to disrupt postal services in the run up to Christmas.
