Tullybeg Retirement Village - Sit-in continues

The directors of Tullybeg Retirement Village have issued a statement claiming they are tempting to make moneys available to cover all outstanding payments.

Fifty five staff members of the Co Offaly nursing home have been staging a sit-in for the last ten days due to non-payment of salaries and entitlements.

A statement issued this morning from the directors, who are named as Liam Grennan, Ted Cunningham and Irene Johnson, said they have put a proposal to their bankers regarding the provision of moneys due to the employees.

A spokesperson for the employees said they would continue their protest until all wages, holiday pay and redundancy entitlements are paid in full.
