Pope Benedict XVI used his first weekly audience today to address pilgrims in several languages, including Spanish and Polish, and made clear his spiritual focus was rooted in Europe.
It was the first time since his election that he used a significant amount of Spanish, the main language of Latin America.
Pope Benedict’s message, essentially the same in all languages, was that he intends to devote his ministry to what he called the search for peace.
