Foreign Affairs Minister Dermot Ahern has said that Sinn Fein must decide if they are committed to politics.
Mr Ahern was speaking on RTÉ's 'This Week' programme.
He said Sinn Fein could not deny IRA involvement in last Month’s Northern Bank Robbery in Belfast.
The Minister was speaking after Sinn Fein's Chief Negotiator, Martin McGuinness, said the Irish and British governments would be moving on to dangerous ground if they discriminated against his party following the robbery.
Dermot Ahern has said it is well known in border areas that leading IRA members have been involved in criminal activities.
