Bus driver sent forward for trial over crash

A man employed as a driver for Dublin Bus who is charged in connection with an accident in the city centre in February which left five people dead has been sent forward for trial to the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

The Book of Evidence was served on Kenneth Henvey from Whitethorn Crescent in Clondalkin in the Dublin District Court today.

The incident that led to charges against Mr Henvey happened at Wellington Quay when an out of service bus mounted the kerb, colliding with a group of people queuing for a bus. 

Five people died and 17 people were injured in the accident on 21 February.

Mr Henvey was remanded on bail.
