Economic growth in Ireland has been predicted to create 50,000 jobs a year over the next five years and make Ireland one of the richest countries in Europe.
In an interview with the Sunday Business Post, Dan McLaughlin, the chief economist at Bank of Ireland, forecasts an average annual growth of 6.5%, rivalling the Celtic Tiger prosperity of the nineties.
He says the key to such rapid growth would be in attracting workers from the new EU member states.
