Landmark accords on Sudan signed

Sudan's government and southern rebels have signed landmark accords paving the way for a comprehensive agreement to end Africa's longest-running civil war.

However, it will not cover a separate war raging in Sudan's western Darfur region.

Officials of the Khartoum government and the rebel Sudan People's Liberation Army signed the three accords at a ceremony northwest of the Kenyan capital, Nairobi.
