It has been announced that Diageo is to cease brewing Guinness in Britain.

The company says the closure of its London brewery, after 70 years of production, will result in the loss of 90 jobs.

Diageo is to concentrate production for both the UK and Ireland at St James's Gate in Dublin.

The Dublin brewery employs 1,200 people.

Diageo says it expects the 50% increase in production would be met with the existing workforce.
