NBRU to resume talks with Department

The National Bus and Rail Union is to resume talks on Thursday, 18 March with the Department of Transport despite the threat of industrial action that day by SIPTU.

The decision was made at a special session of the union's biennial conference in Galway today.

The conference, which should have concluded last night, was extended to allow a debate on the situation in CIÉ.

The debate centred on the talks on the future of Dublin Bus currently taking place under the chairmanship of Mr Kevin Foley, in the light of the threatened SIPTU stoppage.
