Guinness is to shed 135 jobs from its operations in the Republic and the North.
It is understood that the job cuts will be in the administration sales and marketing areas.
A further 39 staff are to be redeployed across the organisation.
The job cuts follow a review of the Guinness operations.
Diageo, the parent company, says that the job cuts and redeployments will ensure a better allocation of resources to maximise potential for profitable growth.
They also say it will reduce costs and ensure quicker and more effective decision making.
