Minister not to increase tunnel height

watch

The Minister for Transport has decided not to increase the height of the Dublin Port Tunnel.

Seamus Brennan plans to ban the supertrucks that may not fit into it from Irish roads.

The minister called in Dublin City Council officials tonight, following a series of reports that the tunnel's final clearance height may be too low for up to 900 trucks passing through Dublin a day.
