Burmese democracy leader speaks of solidarity with East T

The Burmese democracy leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, has expressed solidarity with the people of East Timor, comparing their suffering with those of her own people. In a rare interview Miss Suu Kyi, who was under house arrest for six years, said that it was important for the international community to understand that what has happened in Burma was no different from events in East Timor.
