The half-year results from the international building materials group, CRH, have been published. The figures show that the group made £123m in pre-tax profit before exceptional items. That is an increase of 46% over the same six months last year. When exceptional items are included, the pre-tax profit is £173m, which is a rise of 105%. Sales in the period amounted to £2.2billion.
