A parcel delivery company is to create 120 jobs at its distribution hub in the midlands and at delivery points around the country.
DPD Ireland is investing €2m in expanding its central sorting hub in Athlone, bringing total investment in the facility to €38m.
Boosted by Black Friday online sales in recent years, the company aims to significantly scale up its Irish operations by increasing its sorting capacity in Athlone and boosting staff numbers in the country from 1,720 to 1,840 employees.
The Athlone jobs were officially announced at the DPD hub by Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation Heather Humphreys this morning.
