Gardaí in the midlands who have been investigating feud-related violence in the Longford area have arrested three people and recovered a shotgun and ammunition overnight.
It is understood an armed garda patrol intercepted a car while following up on the latest outbreak of violence, which included an attack on a home and the discovery of a viable device in the last seven days.
Three women have been taken into custody and are being held at Longford Garda Station.
