A 23-year-old man is in a stable condition at Beaumont Hospital in Dublin after a collision on the Dublin to Sligo road near Longford town this afternoon.
Gardaí say the man was brought by air ambulance to the hospital after the incident, but his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
One lane of the N4 is now open again with a stop-go traffic light system in place at the scene near Newtownforbes on the Sligo side of Longford town.
Gardaí are continuing to investigate the collision.
