Mary was born in 1916, and spoke about her memories of the reputation of the Black and Tans in the community at the time, though she was glad she never actually saw them when they raided homes in the area.
Dr Greg Kelly said today was one of the most memorable of his medical career. He said people have been searching for a magic bullet to try and stop Covid and "now we have the ammunition to do it".
Mary Quinn’s friend, Danny Burke, also got the vaccine and said he was now looking forward to a pint of Guinness and watching Roscommon in the Hyde before the year was out.
"We all have to have patience," he said.
