It is reported that Bond producers are eyeing Trainspotting and Slumdog Millionaire's Danny Boyle as the director for Daniel Craig's final adventure as 007.
Entertainment trade daily Variety, which broke the story, reports that Oscar winner Boyle is "high on their list" but "no formal offer has yet been made" by Bond producers Eon Productions and studio MGM.

"Boyle has keen interest in the project and has always wanted to direct a Bond film," Variety says.
"Boyle has long been in MGM and Eon's sights to direct a Bond movie, going back to 2012's Skyfall and 2015's Spectre," it adds.

Skyfall and Spectre are the two highest-grossing Bond films to date, taking in $1.1bn and $880m respectively at the global box office.
Both were directed by another Oscar winner, Sam Mendes, who said he would not return for a third film.

Speaking to RTÉ Entertainment in November, Bond producer Barbara Broccoli said: "We've got our Daniel; we've got to find the director. We're working on the script and we'll see... Hopefully by the beginning of the year we'll have more news on all those fronts."
Dunkirk director Christopher Nolan recently dismissed rumours that he was set to direct the next Bond film, but said he would love to take on 007 at some point in his career.
