Cliff Rooney, manager of Paddy Cullens Bar, Dublin and David Crowe, owner of Crowes Bar, Dublin express their initial reactions to the ban.
English tourists visiting Bundoran say that they would only return to the North of Ireland where there is no smoking ban. A hotel manager in Letterkenny says he has lost bookings for two weddings because of the ban.
At the Liebherr plant in Killarney workers who are smokers talk about how they will adjust under the new law.
