Sharon Wauchob talks to Pamela Flood about the appeal and challenges of the fashion industry in this interview from ‘Off the Rails’. The Tyrone-born designer studied at St Martin’s College in London. She then worked for Louis Vuitton in Paris, before starting her own label. She was creative director of Edun, the ethical fashion brand set up by Ali Hewson and Bono, from 2009 to 2013.
The fashion industry appeals to Sharon Wauchob because it brings together artistic and business elements. She says that the greatest challenge she faces is competing internationally, but that fashion is no tougher than any business in this respect. Sharon’s label is trying to develop a signature. All the tops this season were designed to be worn with jeans.
